Making Transitions Easy
The decision to move a loved one in need of care to assisted living can be a challenging one. As Director of Leasing Lesley Pedroli recently explained to Ladue News, our team of experts at McKnight Place Assisted Living & Memory Care assists families in making that decision as comfortably as possible. From the very first discussion all the way through the transition and move, we provide residents and their loved ones with a wealth of resources, expertise and exceptional service to assure the process is a smooth and pleasant one.
Pedroli notes, “Things have definitely changed with our processes, but we have adapted and helped provide our [incoming] residents a safe environment. It feels good – it’s a pleasure to be able to have them move in and be part of our community. We know people still need to be moving in.”
Custom-Tailored Move-In Plans
No two residents are the same, and individual needs, preferences and realities vary significantly. For that reason, McKnight Place offers move-in plans that are tailored to each person. “We want to make sure that [resident] comfort- and what is convenient to them- is put first,” Pedroli says.
Protecting Your Safety and Health
We’re doing everything within our power to maintain McKnight Place’s exceptionally high standards of assisted living and memory care. The safety and health of our community is always a top priority. For that reason, the challenges posed by COVID-19 haven’t caused us to lower those standards. Our chef takes pride in the everyday excellence of McKnight Place’s menu selections and will make special dishes for residents on request, activities are still available in the comfort and safety of residents’ apartments, and the joys of living at McKnight Place remain very much intact.
While the activities at McKnight Place may look different – outdoor concerts, a new pumpkin patch, socially distanced s’mores on the patio and more – our spirit of camaraderie and community joy is stronger than ever. Our abundance of beautiful common space and lovely outdoor courtyards are a true asset; our residents can enjoy sunlight, fresh air, and the pleasures of nature whenever they please.
A Family Feeling
“We’ve become more of a family in this time, that’s for sure,” Pedroli says. “[Another thing] that’s been amazing is that we’ve had a resident write a book during this time. We were able to purchase her copies and share them with other residents and have received beautiful responses that it offered them hope and peace. You can feel it in our staff; they’re very dedicated to our residents. It’s wonderful to see them having conversations with our residents.”
“People are weighing their options right now, and when we get to know them better, we get to know how best we can speak to them about their opportunities to be engaged and get the support that they need,” Pedroli explains. “We provide socialization components that lead to health and happiness. I find that our residents have really maintained a level of happiness during this time. They are extremely resilient – we could all learn from them.”
Starting A Conversation
From the very first time we speak, our goal is a simple one: to provide families with the knowledge to make an informed choice, and to make the entire process as comfortable, smooth and safe as possible. Our knowledge, experience and expertise are always available to you, when it’s convenient for you, so starting a conversation is always easy.
“If people are wondering if it’s time to move or move their loved one, we are happy to have those conversations,” Pedroli says. “We want to be that resource for these families to determine what is best for them. Everything will fall into place from there.”
