Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy

We offer quality physical therapy services right in our building. This allows McKnight Place Skilled Nursing residents to focus on health and wellness without the hassle of managing off-site appointments.

Our Therapists

Every McKnight Place physical therapist has extensive experience working with senior adults. We use a team approach to therapy under physician supervision. McKnight Place therapists work closely with our nursing staff, communicate with caregivers, and involve family members to ensure personalized treatment to all our residents.

Our Individualized Approach

At McKnight Place, our physical therapists develop highly individualized plans to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and address barriers to improved functional mobility. Using therapeutic exercise and functional training, we work to promote proper movement and function while maintaining or improving quality of life for residents using strength, balance, flexibility, and posture.

The goal of physical therapy is to work toward improved function. When McKnight Place resident receives a physical therapy referral from his or her primary care physician, that resident will receive individualized, one-on-one attention in our convenient therapy center. Our goal is to improve the resident’s quality of life through the ability to move.

While our physical therapists focus on strength and function to help residents regain important skills such as walking and using the stairs, there is another component. Our occupational therapists can then work with residents to help them regain their activities of daily living. This integral part of post-operative therapy includes activities such as bathing and dressing, for example.
