Physical Therapy

The goal of physical therapy at McKnight Place is to improve our resident’s quality of life through increased function and the ability to move.

Our Individualized Approach

When you come to McKnight Place after receiving a referral for physical therapy from your primary care physician, you will receive individualized, one-on-one attention in our on-site therapy center.

Our physical therapists develop highly individualized plans to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and address barriers to improved functional mobility while focusing on strength and function to help residents regain important skills such as walking and using the stairs.

Using therapeutic exercise and functional training, we work to promote proper movement and function while maintaining or improving quality of life for residents using strength, balance, flexibility, and posture. Our occupational therapists can then work with residents to help them regain their activities of daily living. This integral part of post-operative therapy includes activities such as bathing and dressing, for example.

McKnight Place therapists have extensive experience working with senior adults and they work closely with our nursing staff, communicate with caregivers, and involve family members to ensure personalized treatment to all our residents.

With physical therapy and medical services available on-site, as well as restaurant style dining, transportation services, interesting activities, and more, our community has everything you need to live well in comfort.
