McKnight Place Assisted Living residents have so many opportunities to socialize – as little or as much as they choose! We make it easy to take advantage of the many on-site events including speakers and presentations, cooking demonstrations, and live entertainment by making a wide range of options available every day. Our engaged staff also knows what our residents enjoy doing around town, and activity directors plan regular out-trips to favorite destinations.
Recently, McKnight Place residents enjoyed live entertainment by Stephanie Bakula during one of our daily happy hour gatherings in the bistro. A group also enjoyed a lunch outing at Llywelyn’s restaurant in Webster Groves. These events, as well as daily exercise classes, art and music sessions, themed tastings, gardening activities and more, appeal to a wide range of interests.
A social life has proven benefits for health. Seniors who indicate feeling isolated or lonely also report having poor mental or physical health. Feelings of loneliness are linked to poor cognitive performance and rapid cognitive decline including dementia. It is important to recognize signs of isolation and create opportunities for regular social contact.
A high-quality senior living community offers opportunities for activities and friendships. At McKnight Place Assisted Living, our robust schedule of diverse activities offers something for everyone. However, we also have plenty of quiet spaces for relaxing and taking time to one’s self. Everyone can find his or her own perfect balance.
